This is the second Creamsicle #4 cross I’ve recently tried from GrowHealthy – Lemon Freeze Pop is the other one. If I was basing it off of my experience with these two strains, I’d say I tend to like Creamsicle crosses.
Apple Aperitif (pronounced a-peh-ruh-teef) comes from a cross with Apple Fritter, which itself is a cross of Sour Apple and Animal Cookies. That works out for me, because Animal Cookies has GSC as one of its parents – and I know that I also tend to like GSC crosses.
Bottom line: this strain has given me every reason to like it on paper. Does it live up to the expectations?

Lab Report

Appearance/Cure

This eighth of Apple Aperitif is another well-done batch of flower from GrowHealthy. Again, each bud is covered in milky to amber trichomes, indicating that the plant was allowed to mature before harvest.
There are a few sugar leaves, indicating the trim job could have been better, but that’s really the only negative with this eighth.
The cure is nearly perfect, with dense buds that break apart perfectly – moisture content is on point. This flower is more sticky than the Lemon Freeze pop, but still not overwhelmingly sticky.
Appearance/Cure Rating: 8.20/10.00
Smell/Taste
Apple Aperitif yields a smell upon opening the jar that is reminiscent of warm, creamy dessert. The apple smell is there, but it doesn’t stand out – it is equal to the other smells, or maybe even a bit in the background. It’s hard to describe the smell of this strain exactly, but it is very good: I’m detecting creamy cookies, sugar, floral, apple, overall fruity dessert scents with hints of hash.
When broken apart or ground up, Apple Aperitif gives much stronger smells of a dessert pastry, and a fruity diesel smell as well.
The taste when smoked is creamy and markedly sweet, with just a slight hint of spice on the exhale, and a significantly sugary aftertaste. This may be one of the sweetest-tasting strains that I’ve ever had. It is unique to me at this point, which is more and more rare as I’ve now tried so many different strains since 2018. Apple Aperitif is a very good and memorable one.
Smell/Taste Rating: 8.00/10.00
Effects/Medical Use
Apple Aperitif has very warm, cozy, indica-dominant hybrid-type effects for me, which can become couch-locking with enough dosage.
Almost immediately after smoking this strain, the familiar heavy-headed and warm-bodied relaxation feelings make themselves known. The cerebral effects are warm and enveloping as well, always managing to put me in a comfortable and positive headspace.
As the effects progress, the body relaxation becomes heavier and more noticeable, with my eyes getting a little heavy as well. Apple Aperitif does seem to make sleep come easier, and I general find it best for afternoon and evening use. In my experience, it definitely leans indica.
I’ve always enjoy the ways GrowHealthy’s indicas made me feel, with Wookie Girl, Bubba Kush, and Florida Keys all coming to mind all this time later. I suppose time will tell, but Apple Aperitif seems like it will be one of those strains as well. The effects truly carry the flower, but the smell is really nice as well, and GrowHealthy did a good job with this batch.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Moderate aches and pains
- Moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues
- General Relaxation
- Insomnia (especially in higher doses)
- May be a good strain for being social/talkative
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 8.60/10.00
Overall Rating: 8.26/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Apple Aperitif as an “excellent” indica strain from GrowHealthy.
I’ve enjoyed these new crosses from GrowHealthy. Apple Aperitif is an absolutely notable strain that I would definitely try again in the future. No doubt it places in my “Top 10” flower strains from GrowHealthy.
