Dream N’ Sour contains genetics of a few well-known strains: Blue Dream, Sour Diesel, and Jack Herer. I’ve passed up this strain a few times in the past, but finally decided to get it recently and see how these strong genetics performed when combined together.
Quick Facts:

Appearance/Cure

This eighth of Dream N’ Sour isn’t anything to write home about in the looks department, but it isn’t bad – though a bit larfy. For those who don’t feel like clicking the link to the Leafly article about “larf” in the preceding sentence, it basically means the buds are lower quality (likely from the bottom of the plant where less light penetrates) and are thinner and wispier. They may contain lower amounts of THC than the full colas.
The flower is also a tiny bit dry, but not at the “crumble apart” level. The main negative is the trim job; you can see in the images above that many sugar leaves were left behind.
This isn’t terrible-looking flower, but it isn’t great.
Appearance/Cure Rating: 5.00/10.00
Smell/Taste
Dream N’ Sour has a unique smell, not exactly what I expected it would be based off the lineage.
There’s a musky fruity smell at the base of everything when opening the jar, with a faint hint of the blueberry from the Blue Dream lineage, and finally a cheesy smell that reminds me of VidaCann/Tikun Olam’s Midnight flower.
When broken apart, the tangy and sour fruit notes come out more. The taste when smoked is smooth and surprisingly sweet, with a slight hint of spice on the exhale.
I can see this being a highly subjective “love it or hate it” type of strain in this category, due to the strong and unique nature of the different smells. I mostly enjoyed it, perhaps more so the taste than the smell.
Smell/Taste Rating: 6.00/10.00
Effects/Medical Use
I find Dream N’ Sour to have effects that remind me of both the Blue Dream and the Sour Diesel in its lineage – not so much on the Jack Herer.
This is definitely a “sativa” feeling (or more energizing/heady) strain, but the mellow feeling of the Blue Dream parent seems to keep everything in check and more balanced.
I find the Sour Diesel effects come through with lifting depression and helping to enhance enjoyment of the task at hand. Of all the reviews I’ve written lately, I feel perhaps the most “in the moment” as I write this one after medicating with the Dream N’ Sour.
Patients who have enjoyed the different parent strains, or generally like “happy” but grounded sativa strains should enjoy this one. It seems best suited for early morning to early afternoon use – a predominantly daytime strain.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression and associated anxiety
- Motivation/energy issues
- Minor headaches
- Relief of minor skeletal/muscular aches and pains
- General enjoyment of activities
- Possibly focus-enhancing
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 7.00/10.00
Overall Rating: 6.00/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Dream N’ Sour as an “above average” sativa strain from Trulieve.
I enjoyed experiencing a strain that combines the lineage of several “classic” strains. Hopefully I can come across more strains like this in the near future – of course, as always, I will review any new strains I try for all of you here on FLMCC.net.
After a bit of a lull in new reviews, I have several more coming out in the next couple of weeks. Thanks so much for your continued support of FLMCC!

I miss the Industry reviews and quarterly reports you used to write. Us patients need more steady reviews from a good source like you. I check this site before I make a purchase to see the medicinal value in what I’m buying.

Thanks for the kind words! I’m working in to being more active again. My life outside of this project has been more busy than normal due to COVID impacts on my career – I have been in the opposite situation of most people. Fortunately things are balancing back out now, and I’m working to make content more frequent again.

Right on about more higher level industry reviews. And too many flower reviews when there are so many new concentrate and rosin vape cart and edible products few know about.
