MÜV, frankly, has been on fire in the second half of 2020. They’ve released a slew of new strains, but more importantly, the quality of their flower has increased by one or two orders of magnitude – particularly their Tier 1.
Guava Jelly is a strain I had admittedly never heard of until I saw it was available at my local dispensary. It’s interesting in that it is a cross of 4 different classic strains, and the result is truly quite flavorful.
I find this to be a nice, mellow, sativa-dominant hybrid. Its effects remind me of a strain that I was really fond of, that unfortunately seemed to disappear completely around 2 years ago: Trulieve’s Colombian Gold flower.

MÜV’s T1 flower is $50 per eighth vs. the $32 pricetag of their T3 flower, and the $40 for T2. Per their website:
Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

Guava Jelly is a particularly beautiful strain, with a nice balance of green and purple. Again, MÜV has grown this strain really well, and it is covered with pale golden trichomes, making for a quite stunning flower.
The one negative aspect of this batch is the dryness, but it isn’t too bad – the flower still breaks up and burns well, without turning into too much of a powdery consistency. After a few years of reviewing these batches of cannabis grown in Florida, I have a little more leniency for dry flowers, as I realize they are usually grown and cured this way in an effort to prevent mold – which, unfortunately, has made itself manifest in batches of flower from almost all the MMTCs at this point.
Despite its dryness, this flower is extremely sticky, and will stay on your hands long after it’s been handled. I am impressed with MÜV more and more as they continue to produce this level of quality. If they continue to do this (and keep improving), they could be vying for best in Florida. Right now, my Top 3 for the Northwest Panhandle are MÜV, Trulieve, and GrowHealthy.

Smell/Taste
Guava Jelly has a very strong and distinct musky grapefruit smell, similar to strains like Forbidden Fruit and MÜV’s Guru. I’ve found that this type of cannabis smell elicits a much more divided response than most strains; people either really love, or really hate this aroma.
Personally, I enjoy the smell, to a degree – it can be a bit obnoxious if I keep sniffing the jar for too long. But in doses, I find it nice, and appreciate its uniqueness.
Thinking more about Guru, the smell of Guava Jelly is nearly identical, but perhaps more musky than the sharp, zesty punch of Guru. What they have in common is that strong, bitter grapefruit smell. This could be a good gauge as to if one might enjoy Guava Jelly: if you enjoy Guru, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this strain as well. The same applies to those who cannot tolerate the smell of Guru.
The taste when smoked is nearly identical to the smell on both the inhale and the exhale. This is unusual, in my experience – the taste when smoked is almost always different than the smell on either the inhale or the exhale; it is rare for both the inhale and the exhale tastes to match the smell of the flower (for me, at least.)
Smell/Taste Rating: 7.40/10.00
Effects/Medical Use
All in all, I’d have to say Guava Jelly feels like a sativa-dominant hybrid – but a mellow one. While the cerebral invigoration is certainly the dominant quality of this strain, it is more of an easygoing euphoria, rather than a speedy or racy and energetic strain.
I first feel Guava Jelly behind the eyes, and it slowly begins to relax my mind and the rest of my upper body, eventually working its way into a warm and mild full-body relaxation. Colors and vision seem to be particularly enhanced and “cozy”.
While I have taken a tolerance taper/break the past couple of weeks, Guava Jelly effects seem to be more potent and long-lasting than the 12.14% THC content would seem to indicate.
With all that in consideration, this is a pretty versatile hybrid strain. It seems suitable for use at any time of the day, except perhaps during the late evening before bed.
Possibly good for treating:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- General enjoyment of life/activities
- Minor to moderate aches and pains
- Minor to moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues
- General Relaxation
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 7.50/10.00
Overall Rating: 7.36/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Guava Jelly as a “very good” hybrid strain from MÜV.
With this batch of flower, MÜV continues to impress me. Their grow team deserves recognition, because they have really turned around the quality of the flower in the latter half of 2020. I’ve went from feeling like it was “rolling the dice” buying their Tier 1, to feeling pretty confident I’m going to get a high quality eighth of cannabis. I’ll definitely be trying more of MÜV’s new strains in the near future, and reviewing them here for all of you.
