MÜV Flower Review: Slurricane (Indica)

Slurricane has been around at MÜV for much of 2020, but it’s always happened to be a strain that I passed over for various reasons – most of which were poor reviews of this strain in the early summer. However, in late summer to early fall, reviews changed. Patients started raving about Slurricane. And so after researching a few reviews in the Florida Medical Trees community on Reddit, I decided to take the plunge and buy an eighth of the Tier 1 Slurricane.

I’m glad I did. This is another great indica strain from MÜV, and another indication that the trend of their flower quality is rapidly increasing.

Quick Facts:

Slurricane (Indica)

Price at time of review: $50/eighth (T1)

Lineage: Do-Si-Dos x Purple Punch

Batch/Harvest Number: BU131020-4062SLR

Cannabinoids

THC: 18.19%

CBD: 0.05%

Total Cannabinoids: 18.24%

Terpenes

Unfortunately, MÜV doesn’t make their lab reports available, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.

Make your voice heard. FLMCC is leading the push for a uniform standard of publicly accessible databases of lab reports for every product, from every Medical Marijuana Treatment Center. Appearance/Cure

MÜV’s T1 flower is $50 per eighth vs. the $32 pricetag of their T3 flower, and the $40 for T2. Per their website:

Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

MÜV has really been improving their flower quality the last few months, and I have been blown away at the quality of this eighth of Slurricane. The nugs are grown, trim, and cured to perfection. The moisture content is perfect, and the flower breaks down to that perfect “fluffy” consistency that I really find myself liking more and more, the more I come across it.

It appears this plant was allowed to mature to a reasonable level before harvest, as the trichomes are abundant, amber to gold in color, and have visible bulbous heads. Slurricane itself appears to be a beautiful strain, and this phenotype is lime green with purple flecks scattered throughout the buds.

If MÜV continues with this level of flower quality, they could be vying for best in Florida. Right now, my Top 3 for the Northwest Panhandle are MÜV, Trulieve, and GrowHealthy.

Appearance/Cure Rating: 8.50/10.00

Smell/Taste

Slurricane has a complex and really enjoyable aroma. There’s a musky, funky, piney diesel, with equally noticeable notes of sour citrus and perhaps a berry undertone. The overall smell is sharp and sort of tangy, especially when the flower is handled and pulled apart or broken up.

The sharp, fruity diesel, sour citrus, and subtle berry smells really come through when the flower is ground up.

The taste when smoked is a heavy, musky diesel on the inhale, followed by sweet, fruity, hashy notes on the exhale. Slurricane has a really unique terpene profile, and it’s a noteworthy strain in this category.

Smell/Taste Rating: 8.60/100

Effects/Medical Use

Slurricane seems to be a “lighter” to moderate indica strain for me, with warm effects that remind me of another strain that has Do-Si-Dos as a parent: VidaCann’s King Dosi. There is a warm, uplifting euphoric effect that builds in the cerebral space; simultaneously, a light but noticeably cozy body sensation also starts creeping in. These effects both build together, synergizing with one another and amplifying the overall effects in a positive way.

This seems to be a more functional and versatile indica strain in my experience. Especially with lighter doses, I can easily medicate with this strain in the morning. Though heavier doses really amp up the relaxation component of the effects, I don’t feel that Slurricane gets especially sedating for me – but it does flirt with the territory.

With all this considered, Slurricane can be used at any time of the day, depending on the dose and the individual consumer.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Anxiety
  • Moderate aches and pains
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues
  • General Relaxation
  • Depression
  • Insomnia (In higher doses)

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.

Effects Rating: 8.70/10.00

Overall Rating: 8.60/10.00

Overall, I would best describe Slurricane as an “outstanding” indica strain from MÜV.

With this batch of flower, MÜV continues to impress me. Their grow team deserves recognition, because they have really turned around the quality of the flower in the latter half of 2020. I’ve went from feeling like it was “rolling the dice” buying their Tier 1, to feeling pretty confident I’m going to get a high quality eighth of cannabis. I’ll definitely be trying more of MÜV’s new strains in the near future, and reviewing them here for all of you.

      1. Since you have tried more of the Florida MMJ strains than I have, in your opinion which strain(s) work best for appetite boosters? I have tried a lot of the types, but not all by any means. I know that Kush-based strains tend to be mediocre at best for me, the Hazes-family work in general for me but the Sativa side of them doesn’t bring out my hunger. Purple Punch was okay (GDP-base I think?) but the 9lb Hammers, Afghani, and “mandarin” type strains aren’t worth my money as anything special.

GDP gets me going good enough for a solid, single, full meal only once a day after smoking 2-3 0.75-1.0g of rolled flower (as well as vaping distillate GDP). The Blueberry & Watermelon distillates from GrowHealthy help get me to snack once or twice a day, but nothing else really gives me the proverbial munchies (man-made prescriptions had zero effect BTW). I’ve taken tolerance breaks but those haven’t really helped. I cannot do any sort of edible because my liver doesn’t have the enzyme that breaks down THC. So I’m searching for the Holy Grail LOL

I’ve lost approximately 1/3 of my body weight over the past 1-2years so I’m desperate to get anything that would be appetite-inducing!!

  2. Clint you should try the Alien Cheese strain from Sanctuary Medicinals if you are near Orlando. 30% overall cannabinoids, def gives me a strong appetite which is rare for me through cannabis. I hope you find a strain that works for you and you get your weight loss under control.
