MÜV Flower Review: Prophet (Hybrid)

First off, Happy Halloween 2020! We hope your day has been fulled with treats if you’re reading today, and even if you’re leading long after this day has passed, we hope this review finds you happy and healthy.

MÜV has really been firing off what seems like a multitude of new strains lately, many with genetics that can’t be found at any other Florida dispensary. To that point, they’ve even engaged in a partnership with Strainprint, where patients can track their experiences with all the new strains in exchange for product discounts at MÜV.

Prophet is a newer strain that can be found at a couple of other Florida dispensaries, and it’s a strain that seemed to fly under my radar, as I had never heard of it until I got it. This strain crossed Tang Tang with Pre-98 Bubba Kush to form a potent cerebral hybrid that I found myself really enjoying through time.

Quick Facts:

Prophet (Hybrid)

Price at time of review: $50/eighth (T1)

Lineage: Tang Tang x Pre-98 Bubba Kush

Batch/Harvest Number: BU230920-1509PHT

Cannabinoids

THC: 18.95%

CBD: 0.04%

Total Cannabinoids: 18.99%

Terpenes

Unfortunately, MÜV doesn’t make their lab reports available, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.

Appearance/Cure

MÜV’s T1 flower is $50 per eighth vs. the $32 pricetag of their T3 flower, and the $40 for T2. Per their website:

Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

Like the Ice Cream Cake x Gelato that I picked up along with it, this eighth of Prophet represents a serious step up in the quality of MÜV’s flower when compared to the flower I was picking up there this summer (2020).

Each bud looked to be hand-trimmed, and was dense – without seeming unnaturally dense, if that makes sense. Trichome coverage is full, and is a mix of clear and amber coloring. There seem to be hints of pink/purple dispersed throughout some of the buds as well, which may be some of the Pre-98 Bubba genetics coming through.

If MÜV can keep up this quality and continue to improve upon it, I might be shopping for flower there more often.

Appearance/Cure Rating: 6.80/10.00

Smell/Taste

Prophet was immediately gassy when I opened the jar, and it smelled up my living room within about 15 seconds, as indicated by my wife’s proclamation of “damn, it smells like weed in here!”

This is one of those strains that has that almost ammonia-like chemical smell when ground up, complemented with hints of pine and citrus, with a faint earthy musk completing the profile.

When smoked, the gassy taste is dominant; there are hints of earthy soil on the inhale, and a spicy pine finish on the exhale.

Prophet seems to be a classic “loud” strain, and I feel many will be impressed with it, if other batches smell as mine did.

Smell/Taste Rating: 6.90/100

Effects/Medical Use

I easily distinguish Prophet (or at least this phenotype of it) as a cerebral-forward strain in the effects profile. This was exclusively a daytime strain for me, and I found the combination of mood lift and light focus to be desirable for being productive.

The body effects are light, but noticeable, and seemed like a bit of icing on the cake for a strong cerebral and mood-lifting phenotype. I’d definitely label Prophet as a sativa-dominant hybrid, with perhaps a 75/25 dominance of “sativa” effects.

I found this strain particularly good at enhancing my creativity, as well.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Lack of focus/motivation
  • Depression
  • General enjoyment of life/activities
  • Minor to moderate aches and pains
  • Minor to moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.

Effects Rating: 7.00/10.00

Overall Rating: 6.90/10.00

Overall, I would best describe Prophet as a “good” hybrid strain from MÜV.

I’m really interested in all the more modern genetics that MÜV is bringing to Florida, and if they’re all on the same level of quality as the recent eighths I’ve bought from them, then I truly look forward to trying and reviewing more of their strains in the future.
