Strawberry Cough is a well-known and sought after cannabis strain that has a bit of mystery behind its exact origin. The general idea behind the lineage is a Haze phenotype was bred with a strawberry strain; some versions of the story say that the other parent was an unknown indica strain that was grown in a strawberry field.
Regardless of the lineage, one thing is clear: MÜV’s phenotype is Strawberry cough is an entirely different strain that VidaCann’s phenotype (review here), which is labeled as a sativa strain.
MÜV has allegedly claimed that their version of Strawberry Cough is the Kyle Kushman phenotype, which has been widely critically acclaimed. I am waiting to verify this with their team, and will report back once I have received an answer.

MÜV’s T2 flower is $40 per eighth vs. the $50 pricetag of their T1 flower or the $32 for T3. Per their website:
Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

This is a beautiful Strawberry Cough phenotype that expresses a large amount of purple shades throughout the buds. Fuzzy amber trichomes are numerous and easily visible with the contrasting shades of purple and green in the background. Pistils are slightly fewer in comparison to what I consider the average for all the strains I’ve tried, and are a vibrant burnt orange color.
The buds are medium density and very slightly on the dry side, but are still somewhat sticky when broken apart.
Very nicely grown batch of Strawberry Cough here – and a very nice phenotype, Kyle Kushman or otherwise.
Appearance/Cure Rating: 6.60/10.00
Smell/Taste
This cut of Strawberry Cough smells nearly identical to a Strawberry Creme Saver candy, for those of you who remember it. Strawberry and Cream are the dominant smells, with a faint earthy terpene in the background. This is a moderately loud flower that smells really nice, sweet, and floral, with the cream terpenes being some of the most pronounced I’ve found in Florida cannabis flower.
The taste is much like the smell – musky strawberry overtones with hints of earthy haze. Very good, and currently my favorite of the three “strawberry” flower strains I’ve tried so far. (The other two are Vidacann’s Strawberry Cough and Trulieve’s Strawberry Switchblade.)
Smell/Taste Rating: 6.80/10.00
Effects/Medical Use
As I mentioned before, MÜV lists their cut of Strawberry Cough as a hybrid strain – a contrast from VidaCann’s sativa cut of the strain.
This seems to reflect in the effects as well. MÜV’s Strawberry Cough feels like a more balanced hybrid strain, if slightly sativa-dominant. The typical sativa-esque cerebral invigoration is immediately noticeable, but gentle. This strain is a bit of a creeper, and the mind/euphoric effects seem to reach full intensity about 20-25 min after the first hit.
After the peak of cerebral effects, the indica-like body relaxation begins to set in, but not too heavily. This is a functional strain that I’ve used to wake-and-bake, but it is versatile, as I’ve also used it to wind down after a long day at work. It is notable that this strain does a good job of helping me stay productive and not as anxious from the COVID-19 pandemic that is consuming so much of our lives at this time. Overall, the effects are pretty balanced, and could be used at almost any time of the day – except right before bed, perhaps. This strain has enough of a sativa edge that I would not want to use it before trying to ease my mind off to sleep.
Possibly good for treating:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- General enjoyment of life/activities
- Minor to moderate aches and pains
- Minor to moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues
- General Relaxation
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 7.00/10.00
Overall Rating: 6.80/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Strawberry Cough as a “good” hybrid strain from MÜV.
At this point, I would have to say that this is my favorite cut of Strawberry Cough currently available in Florida. It truly delivers good results in all the categories I’m looking for. I recommend getting the T2 if you have a chance – it’s the best of both worlds in terms of price and overall quality.
