Chemhünd (pronounced “Kim-hoond”) is MÜV’s cut of the classic Chemdog strain. There’s an entire cannabis story/legend behind the origins of Chemdog, so if you want to read up on that, there’s a good article from High Times here that breaks down a lot of the origin story.
Chemhünd is the only strain that was available in MÜV’s Tier 3 flower at Pensacola’s grand opening. T3 is the lowest of MÜV’s tiers, and is strictly reserved for their “smalls” or “littles” – the smaller, breakaway nuggets that are often found towards the bottom of the cannabis plant. At $32/eighth, based off my experience with this Chemhünd, the T3 option is absolutely worth the money.

Unfortunately, MÜV doesn’t make their lab reports available, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.
Appearance/Cure

MÜV’s T3 flower is $32 per eighth vs. the $50 pricetag of their T1 flower or the $40 for T2. Per their website:
Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

With that being said, I didn’t feel that this Chemhünd was any lesser overall quality than the T1 Rainbow Trainwreck I tried, or the T2 Clementine – at least in regards to potency and terpenes; in fact, this Chemhünd had higher cannabinoid content than both the T1 and T2 bud I picked up..The only difference was the size of the buds – numerous penny-sized “smalls” for T3, several medium size for T2, and a few large rocklike buds for T1.
Chemhünd itself seems to be a pretty strain. Its color is light green with hints of a gold/yellow in the background. Each bud is beautifully and visibly covered in amber trichomes and light orange pistils.
Based on my experience with this eighth, MÜV’s T3 is well grown and worth the $32.

Smell/Taste
Chemhünd smells unlike any other strain I’ve tried in Florida’s medical cannabis industry thus far. To me, it smells like straight funky cheese, to the point that I wouldn’t have thought twice if this was labeled as some sort of Cheese strain variant. The smell in the jar is a bit captivating and so, so unique.
When I grind up the buds, I find that more of a mixture of pine and faint sweet citrus comes out. When smoked, Chemhünd takes nothing like either of the smells it presents. The taste, to me, is very spicy/peppery and earthy. The taste itself is not noteworthy or especially pleasant, but the unique cheese smell really helps define Chemhünd in this category.

Effects/Medical Use
Chemhünd feels like a nice, well-rounded 50/50 hybrid strain. A slightly energizing cerebral invigoration takes over immediately after the first hit; this strain has a bit more of a “punch” to it than many other hybrid strains, and the effects are particularly noticeable behind the eyes.
I really enjoyed both cooking a meal and writing this review while under the effects of Chemhünd. As I am about 20-30 minutes in to the effects now as I type this, the relaxing body effects are beginning to become more apparent. This is neither a extremely energetic nor a heavily sedating strain; it really does capture the best of both worlds in both sativa and indica effects. It’s probably one of the most balanced hybrid flower strains I’ve found in some time. It feels a lot like Fluent’s “Baldor” flower, but perhaps with more of a cerebral “punch”. I’d recommend Chemhünd for use any time from early morning until late evening.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression and related anxiety
- Motivation issues
- Good for general relaxation
- Relief of moderate aches and pains
- Relief of minor to moderate nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort
- Relief of minor insomnia (in higher doses, and during the latter part of effects)
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 6.20/5.00
Overall Rating: 5.56/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Chemhünd as a “slightly above average” hybrid strain from MÜV.
This is just the beginning of many, many MÜV product reviews to come. Now that they’ve finally come to my part of Florida, I have a lot of catching up to do!
