MÜV Flower Review: Clementine (Sativa)

Clementine. I’ve been waiting for quite a while to see this strain in full flower form, after immensely enjoying it during my early days as a legal cannabis patient; back then, I was filling up VFire pods with Trulieve’s Clementine Truclear distillate and vaping them it out of their Trustik. I always wondered what the flower would smell and taste like, as even the plant-derived terpenes in the Truclear had a nice orange citrus flavor.

I didn’t expect the smell to be amazing, but I found one of my favorite citrus strains in Florida in MÜV’s Clementine flower.

Unfortunately, MÜV doesn’t make their lab reports available, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.

Appearance/Cure

MÜV’s T2 flower is $40 per eighth vs. the $50 pricetag of their T1 flower. Per their website:

Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.

With that being said, I didn’t feel that this Clementine was any lesser quality than the T1 Rainbow Trainwreck I tried, at least in regards to potency and terpenes; in fact, this Clementine had higher cannabinoid content. The only difference was the size of the buds – medium size for T2, and large rocklike buds for T1.

Clementine itself is a pretty flower. Mostly lime green hues give way to medium green accents, all absolute covered in milky trichomes and light pink pistils. This eighth is moderate in density and has nearly perfect moisture content, and has a bit of stickiness about it.

Based on my experience with this eighth, MÜV’s T2 is well grown and worth the $40.

Smell/Taste

As I said at the beginning of the review, I’m very impressed with the smell of this flower. It’s loud and very orange citrus-esque. Very bright citrus terpenes. The smell reminds me of an actual clementine right after it’s been peeled and the little sections are broken open. The smell is also reminiscent of Sunkist or any similar orange-flavored soda. Of all the “lemon” and “orange” citrus-named strains that I’ve tried, MÜV’s Clementine flower deserves its name the most.

Unfortunately, the taste doesn’t come through quite like the terpenes smell. Instead, I find the taste of the smoke on exhale to be more spicy and peppery. It still tastes good – just not like it smells.

If you’re looking for a strain that smells like orange citrus, this is the one. Absolutely nailed the naming of this strain with regards to its smell.

Effects/Medical Use

Clementine is a comfortable sativa for me; in fact, the Rainbow Trainwreck felt more racy despite the fact that it is labeled as a hybrid strain.

Clementine seems to be a really good mood lifter, causing my depression to fade into nothing, and replacing it with a happy, steady motivation. Like many sativa strains, this seems to enhance colors and general perception of my visual field. Doing tasks like folding laundry (which I usually dislike to an extent) are much more bearable, and doing things I enjoy (like writing this review, playing instruments, etc.) are even more enjoyable.

This is a good daytime strain, and I’d say it’s best for use anywhere from early morning to early evening. It does ease into a dreamy and mellow full-body relaxation as the effects progress, making it a strain that I can’t wait to try before heading out to the beach in the spring and summer.

Possibly good for treating:

• Depression and related anxiety 
• ADD/ADHD or focus-related issues
• Lack of motivation
• Minor aches and pains
• Increased energy and alertness (to an extent)

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.

Overall, I would best describe Clementine as a “very good, exceptionally smelling” sativa strain from MÜV.
