VidaCann Flower Review: I-95 x Lemon G13 (Hybrid)

VidaCann has had this interesting stain available since late 2019. I initially tried it in preroll form (review here), and enjoyed it so much that I told myself I would be sure to get this strain the next time it was available in whole flower. Another batch finally came around this past week, so I went ahead and treated myself to an eighth.

There isn’t really any information about this cross online, and it doesn’t seem to have its own official strain name yet. If any VidaCann representatives are reading this review, I propose the strain be named Lemon I-95 if you don’t already have a name for it. This is certainly a lemon citrus-forward strain, it’s simple, and that strain name isn’t taken yet based on my quick research.

Both parents are pretty well-known strains. I-95 is a Washington State originated strain that is a descendent of Triangle Kush, Stardawg, and Legend OG. Lemon G13, also known as “Lemon G”, is a child of G13 and an unknown Lemon parent.

I-95 x Lemon G13 is one of my favorite strains from VidaCann at this time.

(But seriously, let’s give it a name – Lemon I-95!)

Terpenes

Unfortunately, VidaCann doesn’t make their lab reports available unless requested, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain, as I have not received the report at this time. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.

Appearance/Cure

This eighth of “Lemon I-95” weighed 3.7 grams and consisted entirely of nice-size, chunky buds. The color is a medium, pine green with a generous coating of trichomes, accented with pink/orange pistils.

Unlike some social media reports of recent batches of VidaCann’s flower, this eighth is actually pretty sticky and feels “soft” and sticky when broken up. It is more sticky than the recent Eran Almog flower, and on par with a batch of King Dosi flower that I picked up a few months ago. The buds are fairly dense as well.

Overall, VidaCann did a great job growing this, and seems to be getting into a really nice rhythm of continually pumping out high-quality flower.

Appearance/Cure Rating: 7.00/10.00

Smell/Taste

Oh man.. where to start? I love the smell of I-95 x Lemon G13, in short. It really seems to have the best attributes of both its parent strains, based on what I’ve read about them online. I-95 is known for its pungent fuel aroma, and Lemon G13 for its funky lemon terpene profile.

I-95 x Lemon G13 slaps you in the face as soon as you open the jar with a strong, zesty, funky lemon citrus smell. For those of you who have tried Mandarin Dreams flower from Trulieve, this strain has some of the same strong citrus terpenes – it’s not the sweet citrus we generally think of with cannabis, but more of a funky and sour citrus. However, this strain is unmistakably “lemon”, and has much more of a fuel and “dank” smell than Mandarin Dreams does.

The lemon and fuel tastes come through very notable when smoked; in fact, this strain is one of the best I’ve found that tastes like it smells – the terpenes seem to come through very well even after combustion.

I enjoyed the taste and smell of I-95 x Lemon G13 in preroll, but didn’t realize how much more I was going to enjoy and appreciate it its smell in full flower form. For patients who enjoy funky citrus strains, lemon strains, or just dank cannabis in general – you have to try this one out.

Smell/Taste Rating: 7.20/10.00

Effects/Medical Use

Initially, my experience with the I-95 x Lemon G13 preroll leaned more toward a sativa-dominant effects spectrum. This is consistent with my experience with full flower as well, so I feel comfortable in saying that this strain behaves like a sativa-dominant hybrid. Cerebral effects and vision/color enhancement are notable early on, and persist well throughout the duration of the effects.

I find this strain to be good for getting out and running errands, creativity, and really any task that requires some level of engagement. Body relaxation is present, but is not overwhelming, and the strain does not feel sedating at all to me.

My previous assessment was that the effects feel like they are 65/35% sativa-dominant, and again, this seems to be consistent with several days of medicating with the full flower form of I-95 x Lemon G13. This feels like a good strain for use any time from early morning to late afternoon, and even at night, I don’t think it will necessarily keep anyone awake for hours on end, but I don’t think I would medicate with it right before bed either.

The effects are overall enjoyable, and coupled with the excellent smell and taste of the strain, the overall experience is even better.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Minor aches and pains
  • General relaxation
  • Headaches
  • Lack of appetite (mild appetite stimulant)
  • Mild gastrointestinal discomfort (Irritable Bowel Syndrome or other similar conditions)

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.

Effects Rating: 7.00/10.00

Overall Rating: 7.06/10.00

Overall, I would best describe I-95 x Lemon G13, or “Lemon I-95” as a “good” hybrid strain from VidaCann.

Patients who enjoy “Lemon” strains will enjoy this one. I think it may be my current favorite Lemon strain in Florida. The smell/taste is unique and one of the most enjoyable that I’ve tried lately, and is really what makes this strain stand out. With future purchases, now that I’ve seen the full flower, I’ll probably opt for the $40 eighths of “popcorn” or smalls. But I have a feeling I’ll be getting this I-95 x Lemon G13 at least one more time before the end of 2020 – it’s a good strain! Well done, VidaCann.
