Blue Dream is a well-known cannabis strain that is said to have originated in California. Fluent Cannabis renames their cannabis strains to various names that sometimes sound like something out of an Elder Scrolls game, and they have chosen “Baldor” as the name for their Blue Dream strain.
As for the flower itself, Fluent has done another masterful job of growing a classic flower strain – this flower is another example of their commitment to excellence of growing and curing truly premium quality cannabis flower.

Appearance/Cure

Fluent has built a reputation for producing truly premium quality batches of cannabis flower, and this eighth of Blue Dreams comes with that same quality. Blue Dreams seems to be a bit of a darker green colored strain, with an abundance of bright orange pistils, and a visible coating of almost golden-colored trichomes.
This batch of Blue Dream was a little drier and not quite as sticky as the previous batches of flower I have purchased form Fluent, but the moisture content is certainly still of a very desirable level, and there is definitely still a stickiness to these buds.
Appearance/Cure Rating: 6.00/10.00
Smell/Taste
Blue Dream has a sweet, tangy berry terpene profile. I can definitely indicate the Blueberry lineage in this batch, as there are certainly hints of a smell that is reminiscent of fresh blueberries. There’s an ever so slight hint of a musk that is present as well, but not nearly as present as the sweet berry terpenes.
The heavier, dark berry notes are dominant when smoking this strain. This batch of Blue Dream isn’t necessarily the type of strain to make your house reek of bud, but it is enjoyable for what it is. For patients who enjoy the “darker” fruity terpene profiles, this is a good strain for you.
Smell/Taste Rating: 5.00/10.00
Effects/Medical Use
Blue Dream is listed on most cannabis websites as a sativa-dominant hybrid; however, Fluent lists their “Baldor” as a 50/50 hybrid.
I find that gentle cerebral effects are very quick to set in after taking a hit of Blue Dream; this is strain that I always feel behind the eyes. The cerebral invigoration is not too overwhelming or racy, but is enough to produce some motivation, relieve depression, and generally change one’s perspective – without inducing anxiety, as some sativa-dominant strains tend to do.
A creeping full-body relaxation becomes apparent as the effects progress, and grows in intensity until it seems to be equal, or even dominant to the cerebral effects. I don’t find Blue Dream to be sedating, but it is a strain I would say is heavily relaxing after about 30-45 minutes have passed. This is an uplifting strain that will ease you onto a warm cloud of relaxation after it has alleviated any stress, anxiety, or depression from the mind. I can see why Blue Dream is such a beloved strain in the cannabis community with its very balanced and enjoyable effect spectrum.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression and related anxiety
- Motivation issues
- Good for general relaxation
- Relief of moderate aches and pains
- Relief of minor to moderate nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort
- Relief of minor insomnia (in higher doses, and during the latter part of effects)
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.
Effects Rating: 6.70/10.00
Overall Rating: 5.90/10.00
Overall, I would best describe this batch of Blue Dream (or “Baldor) a “slightly above average” strain from Fluent.
At $50 eighth, I feel the price tag is too expensive for this strain – it should be a $40 strain, especially considering that other MMTCs offer it for a lower price. However, I think that any patient who enjoys the Blue Dream strain will enjoy Fluent’s version of it. This is one of the best simultaneously uplifting and relaxing hybrid strains that I have tried.
I’ll most likely get Blue Dream again in the future for its effects, but I’m not sure that I’ll pay $50 for it again. This doesn’t mean that the flower isn’t great quality; I just generally feel that the $50 price tag should be reserved for only the most premium quality strains and grows, especially now that competition within the Florida cannabis market has made strains in the $30-$40 price range much more widely available.
