Trulieve has had this strain around for a little while now; my first experience with it was when I tried it in flower cups late last year (review here).
Oregon Lemons is described as a 60/40% indica-dominant hybrid, and the effects are pretty on-par with this description. This is what i like to call a “middle of the road” strain, being that it isn’t overpowering in its cerebral effects, or too sedating with its body effects. Strains like this are great for physical activity such as lifting weights or playing sports; the cerebral effects are just enough to focus, and the body effects help keep the body relaxed and limber.

Appearance/Cure

Oregon Lemons is a pretty average looking strain, mostly medium green with some yellow highlights, all covered in burnt orange pistils. The buds are fairly dense, with a few looser areas near the bottom of the larger buds. The cure was done well – not necessarily the absolute best I’ve seen from Trulieve, but not subpar by any means. In fact, this batch is very consistent with the batch I had in the flower cups around Christmas 2018, from the cannabinoid percentages to the appearance and cure.
Trulieve is definitely doing a consistently better job of curing than they were in late 2018 and the beginning of 2019. It’s nice to see this strain presented as loose flower – definitely shows more of its potential.

Smell/Taste
Oregon lemons has a tart, almost sour citrus smell when broken open. There’s also a pungent, almost earthy or even kush-like smell. It almost reminds me of the smell of Lemon OG, but muskier.
The earthy, pungent tastes are more notable when smoking this strain, but the citrus notes are definitely still present in the taste. This is an enjoyable strain, but not necessarily a standout in this category.

Effects/Medical Use
This is a very mellow strain. I find it preferable for evening use, good for unwinding after a long day of work; I also find it enjoyable to use right before working out, as it helps me tune in to both my mind and body while exercising.
Oregon Lemons is described as a 60/40% indica-dominant hybrid on its CannaSOS page, and I find that to be exactly how I would describe the effects. As I said before, this isn’t a strain that I think will cause sativa anxiety for many people, nor will it be one that sedates most patients to the point of sleep. This is why I find it best for unwinding and before physical tasks.
Medically, I found Oregon Lemons to be a fairly effective pain reliever, and somewhat of a muscle relaxant. It also seems to take away my anxious thoughts, replacing them with a more mellow stream of consciousness. This is a nice strain, but I think it should be $33, as it is not top-shelf quality in its terpenes or effects.
Possibly good for treating:
- Headaches or other minor body aches
- Relief of mild nausea or similar gastrointestinal symptoms
- Relief of mild anxiety
- General relaxation
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.
Rating: 4.90/10.00
Overall Rating: 5.30/10.00
Overall, I would best describe this strain as “average”.
My previous summary of this strain holds true after my second round with it. I will quote it directly.
“While I enjoyed my experience with Oregon Lemons, it is not one of my favorite strains that Trulieve has had. It may be a magic bullet for others – that’s the beauty of this program; every strain and every product has the potential to benefit at least some percentage of patients. I’d definitely recommend this strain for at least one try. It wasn’t amazing, but it most certainly wasn’t terrible. I probably won’t get this one again , but it didn’t leave a bad taste in my mouth literally nor figuratively.”
Try it – you may love it. Would definitely consider buying it again at $33/eighth.
