Trulieve had this strain available a couple of times in the past, sold in vape cups as Skywalker OG. It seems like this strain has a low yield, or limited room in the grow facility, as the batches always seem to be much more limited in availability when compared to other strains. I wasn’t lucky enough to catch Skywalker in stock back then, but was able to add it to an online order thanks to the Facebook representative for Trulieve that I messaged that day.
I’ve found this strain to be quite enjoyable in all areas, and hope that Trulieve is able to cycle it into their lineup more frequently. There isn’t a ton of information about this strain online, and Leafly recently changed the name of the page from “Skywalker” to the names of the parents (Mazar x Blueberry) – is Disney claiming rights to the strain name in the context of cannabis? That would certainly be a sign of the times.

Appearance/Cure

This batch of Skywalker was absolutely beautiful and sticky herb. Dark and mid greens are dusted with hints of gold and orange, all covered in burnt orange pistils and absolutely stunning trichomes. This is the kind of bud that sticks to your fingers when you break it down by hand.
The biggest bud in the jar weighed in at 2.0 grams; the entire eighth was around 4.1 – 4.2.
This cure was absolutely fantastic quality. One of the few strains I would say is near-worthy of the $53 price tag.

Smell/Taste
Skywalker definitely has the musty, pungent dankness that is common among many strongly indica-dominant strains. Thanks to its Blueberry lineage, there is definitely a milder, sweeter, fruity smell present as well – a contrast from the dominating earthy, slightly peppery terpenes from its hardy Mazar parent. This is a pungent strain, all in all.
I particularly enjoyed the taste of this strain when smoked. It really has a nice, pungent flavor that I find reminiscent of strains like 9lb Hammer and Crescendo, for different reasons. I feel that most patients will enjoy the taste of Skywalker.

Effects/Medical Use
Let’s cut to the chase – Skywalker is potent. Very few strains cause me to have dry/red eyes, but this strain does it – Every. Single. Time. Morning or night, previously medicated or not, it only takes one decent-sized hit of Skywalker to cause my eyes to look like I washed them with shampoo. I also get a lot of dry mouth with this strain.
Skywalker is immediately cerebral, which some patients may find surprising for such an indica-dominant strain. The mental effects are not overwhelming or anxiety-inducing for me, and a subtle body warmth is apparent after 5-10 minutes from the first inhalation.
For the first 30-45 minutes after medicating, Skywalker provides a predominantly cerebral experience that is both cozy and slightly stimulating, perfect for leisurely activities after work or on a day off.
After the 45 minute mark, the relaxing indica effects begin to become much more dominant, relaxing the muscles and easing any anxiety in the mind. I find myself feeling heavy-headed and sleepy more often than not after smoking Skywalker; therefore, I would mainly recommend this strain for late afternoon and evening use, unless you have time for a nap in your schedule. I also found this strain, as I do many indica strains, to be useful for getting back to sleep if I woke up in the middle of the night for any reason.
If you’re at all tired or sleepy before medicating with Skywalker, it will most likely finish the job and put you to sleep. Other than that, it’s great for winding down after a long day.
Possibly good for treating:
- Good for relaxation
- Relief of moderate skeletal/muscular aches and pains
- Relief of minor to moderate nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort
- Insomnia
- Lack of appetite
- Anxiety
- Headaches

I would best describe this batch of Skywalker as “excellent”.
“Skywalker” doesn’t really describe the smell or effects of the strain, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect with this indica. I was pleased with the results, and hold it high on my list of medicinally useful indica strains, right along with 9lb Hammer and Bubba Kush. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone to try at least once – maybe with a discount, as the $53/eighth price tag is always a bit painful.
Keep up the great grows, Trulieve. Skywalker has earned a place on my “buy again” list.
