Trulieve CO2 Vape Cart Review: Paradise Waits (Hybrid)

Trulieve quietly introduced this mysterious strain in both CO2 vape carts and crumble over the course of the past week. A google search turns up next to zero information on this strain; however, Trulieve directly messaged me the following strain description:

Paradise Waits was created by crossing Scarlet Fire with Harlequin. This Sativa-Dominant hybrid yields firm earth green to amber gold flower with hues of purple. This resinous flower is accompanied by scents of pine and citrus with slight undertones of sweet mango. The flavor ranges from earthy musk to citrus with subtleties of cream and diesel. Due to the Harlequin cross in Paradise Waits, use will provide a CBD-like clear-headed sensation that has the ability to relax without sedation and provides relief without intoxication.

I found that Paradise Waits was a surprise “homerun” strain for me, producing some of the best medicinal cannabis effects I’ve ever felt from a hybrid strain, and having a unique taste that keeps me coming back for more.

Quick Facts

Paradise Waits

Lineage: Scarlet Fire x Harlequin

THC: 81.1%

CBD: 1.1%

Batch/Harvest Number: FFOBBULIJS000001

Extracted from: Paradise Waits (Kudos to Trulieve for actually extracting the product from the strain for which it is named!)

Taste:

This is absolutely the best tasting vape cart I’ve found during my year in the Florida medical cannabis program. The initial inhalation initially brings on dominant tastes of citrus and pine; after a couple of seconds, a very notable taste of cream is evident. That “creamy” taste is one of the most unique tastes I’ve experienced from cannabis, and it keeps me coming back for more.

On the exhale, I found the cream terpenes to be the dominant taste, with a bit of an earthy and piney taste lingering in the background. This taste is absolutely phenomenal, and I will be looking for the flower version of this strain, as I’m sure it smells amazing.

Taste Rating: 4.50/5.00

Overall Product Quality

Trulieve’s CO2 carts are slightly modified CCell-style vape carts that work really well. I’ve never had any clogging issues with any of the strains in this line, and the oil is top quality – no adding cutting agents like MCT oil, etc. The fact that this vape cart consists of only cannabinoids and terpenes makes it worth the higher price: $55 for a half gram cart (~400mg THC).

Airflow is some of the best I’ve experienced from any vape cart, which ensures that you become efficiently medicated. If you have a low tolerance, take it easy: these carts hit.

Vapor/Product Quality Rating: 4.20/5.00

Effects:

Paradise Waits made a great first impression with its taste, but it absolutely won me over with its effects.

This strain felt like a sativa-dominant hybrid for me: perhaps around 70/30%. The relatively higher CBD content in this vape cart did help ensure that I did not feel too “stoned”, making it a great choice for the day – even when my task list is full.

Paradise Waits is probably one of the best, if not the best, strains that I’ve found to relieve my anxiety. I get a very “warm/cozy” feeling when medicating with this strain, and found it great for taking a walk, being on the beach, working, or really anything. I really feel this one behind the eyes, especially during the beginning to middle of the effect onset.

I do notice a fair amount of body relaxation as the effects begin to settle in, but never to the point that I would describe it as sedating or sleep-inducing. It’s just enough to make this a well-rounded hybrid strain good for use at any time of the day.

I can’t really speak enough on how much I enjoy the effects of Paradise Waits: if you’re a patient, you’ve just got to try it for yourself. This strain has earned a solid position in my top 5 favorite strains of all time – it’s that good. It’s some of the best relief from both depression and anxiety that I’ve found, and it’s motivating/energizing enough that I would say it’s good for ADD as well. This is a very medicinally useful strain that I highly recommend to almost any patient.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Minor to moderate aches and pains
  • Headaches
  • Lack of motivation (in lower doses)
  • General relaxation/relief
  • Relief of nausea and other gastrointestinal symptoms
  • Generally versatile strain

Effects Rating: 4.50/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.40/5.00

Overall, I would describe Paradise Waits as a “top-quality, highly useful” strain that is good for almost any patient at almost any time of the day. I’m wondering if this is an in-house strain from Trulieve as there is almost no information about it online, but regardless of its origin, it is now one of my favorite strains of all time.

I will absolutely purchase this strain in the future (in whatever forms become available), and would highly recommend it to other Florida medical marijuana patients.
