Trulieve TruCRMBL Review: Lemon OG (Hybrid)

Trulieve released their version of cannabis crumble – TruCRMBL – on 02.15.2019. Along with many strains that had previously been available in flower form, Lemon OG was a surprise strain that launched alongside TruCRMBL; the flower form came about a week afterward.

Though hybrids have been hit-or-miss for me in regard to offering any significant relief for my symptoms of anxiety and depression, Lemon OG has been a surprise in that it seems to be a standout strain among the hybrids that Trulieve has offered.

Appearance/Feel

Where my previous crumble purchases from Trulieve have all been the same “off-white”/beige color, this batch of Lemon OG was new to me in the fact that it had some darker brown pieces mixed in as well. I’m not sure what process led to this difference in the coloration, but it does not seem to affect the smell/taste or the effects; it still smells, tastes, and feels really good. Would be interested to know what caused this variation in color.

Appearance Rating: 4.40/5.00

Smell/Taste

Lemon OG has an absolutely pleasant aroma. The initial smell when opening the container is a sharp, sweet citrus; this is complemented by an earthy and slightly pungent collection of terpenes. Lemon OG actually does smell a lot like lemons, and when vaporized, tastes somewhere close to a lemon Starburst candy. I enjoy the smell and taste of this strain so much that I’ll be trying out its flower form in the near future as well, if it’s still in stock at that time. Lemon OG and Lemon Tree are close competitors for my favorite “Lemon” strain in the smell/taste category.

Smell/Taste Rating: 4.20/5.00

Effects/Medical Use

Lemon OG is listed as an indica-dominant hybrid, but for me, it performed more like a 60/40% sativa-dominant hybrid. The initial effects are very cerebral, and can be felt behind the eyes not long after the initial inhale. Lemon OG is an excellent choice for watching movies, video gaming, going for a walk; really, Lemon OG is a great choice for almost any activity. In higher doses, it can have sedating qualities, so be sure to take it lightly if you want to be productive or engage in physically demanding activities.

I really enjoy the effects of Lemon OG. Leafly’s description of the strain had me skeptical about trying it at first; the strain’s page basically says that the effects do not last very long. However, in my experience, the effects from this strain last just as long as any other crumble strain that I’ve tried – somewhere between one to two hours depending on dosage.

As I come down from the peak of the effects, I do find the indica body-relaxing effects to kick in much more prominently. This strain is relaxing, but not necessarily sedating, unless taken in high doses.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression and related anxiety
  • Minor lack of motivation
  • Good for general relaxation
  • Relief of minor to moderate aches and pains
  • Relief of minor to moderate nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Relief of minor to moderate insomnia (in higher doses)

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.

Effects Rating: 4.30/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.30/5.00

Overall, I would best describe Lemon OG as an “excellent and versatile” strain.

TruCRMBL really impressed me. In the past, I have always been more partial to flower; however, after trying this and Trulieve’s Sour DieselSuper Silver Haze crumble, I will definitely be keeping more strains around as a sort of “extra strength medication”, if you will. I’d highly recommend for each patient to try at least 1 gram of their favorite strain to compare the relief to other forms of cannabis medication. This is a very high quality product in my opinion. Is it the best thing ever? That’s entirely a matter of personal preference, but I think it’s definitely worth at least a “test run” from anyone.

Lemon OG has definitely impressed me and stood out to me among hybrid cannabis strains. I will definitely be trying the flower form of this strain in the near future, pending availability.
