Trulieve released the first few batches of this strain in TruFlower during mid to late 2018; unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch it in stock during that time, and it hasn’t been available for a few months. Thankfully, another batch was released last week; at $45/eighth, it’s one of the lower-priced flower options in the Florida cannabis industry.
Green Crack gained some notoriety in the mid 2010’s as an invigorating and energizing motivational sativa; rumor has it that the strain name came from Snoop Dogg after he sampled its potent sativa characteristics.
I originally tried this strain in Trulieve’s CO2 vape carts with cannabis-derived terpenes (review of that product can be found here). I really enjoyed Green Crack in distillate form, and have really been looking forward to trying its natural flower form. I’m pleased to say it has delivered – on all accounts.

Appearance/Feel
Trulieve has been on a roll of better curing quality for the past couple of months, and this batch of Green Crack is yet another quality grow. The moisture content is nearly perfect as the buds are sticky and slightly difficult to break down, but not so damp that it has issues with burning. This strain is medium to light green with areas of light green and a golden yellow hue, all covered in an abundance of bright orange pistils.
While the recent batch of Lemon Tree that I picked up was absolutely covered in kief (cannabinoid crystals), this batch of Green Crack isn’t quite as covered; however, any type of flashlight or bright lighting reveals flower that is covered in sparkling crystals.
This is, again, a good grow. Trulieve – thanks for listening to the patients and continually improving the quality of your flower.

Smell/Taste
Opening a jar of Green Crack brings a sharp, sweet and fruity citrus smell that seems to carry itself across the room quite efficiently. The sweet/sour and fruity citrus terpenes are definitely the dominant ones, but there is also an underlying earthiness to this strain as well. To me, Green Crack seems like a mix of terpenes from Colombian Gold, Sour Diesel, and Super Silver Haze.
Vaporizing and/or smoking this strain yields similar results for the taste. Fruity, sweet and sour citrus dominates, with an underlying earthy terpene(s). This has been one of my favorite sativa strains in the smell/taste category.
Smell/Taste Rating: 4.20/5.00
Effects/Medical Use
Green Crack is definitely an energizing sativa. I wouldn’t say that it is quite as energizing as Sour Diesel or Jack Herer, but it’s more energizing than Super Silver Haze and Colombian Gold. In lower doses, the patient can expect to feel a clean boost of energy, focus, and motivation. In heavier doses, some body relaxation and “sluggish” movement can be felt as well, which I found surprising for a strain with “crack” in its name. (Amongst friends – this is not my favorite strain name.)
I do find the effects of Green Crack to be enjoyable and among some of my favorite of effects I’ve felt from sativa strains. It’s great for morning and early afternoon use, but due to the fact that it can be slightly relaxing in higher doses, it can be even be good for rolling a joint in the late afternoon for a “second wind” type of invigoration. This strain can be harnessed for motivation and/or creativity, making it a great choice for general productivity and relieving lack of motivation.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression
- Minor aches and pains
- Lack of motivation
- ADD/ADHD symptoms
- General relaxation/relief (in higher doses)
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.
Effects Rating: 4.30/5.00
Overall Rating: 4.20/5.00
Overall, I would best describe Green Crack as an “excellent” sativa strain.
The sole “negative” factor of this product is that it currently costs $45/eighth. Though it is one of the lower priced flower options in the state, it’s still among some of the highest priced medicinal cannabis flower in the country, and is a perfect example of why vertical integration of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers in Florida needs to come to an end – soon.
Other than that, this strain absolutely impressed me; I enjoyed it so much that I am purchasing the crumble version of it this weekend. Reviews for that and two other crumble strains will be coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned to this page and our various social media for the latest updates.
Definitely give Green Crack flower a try, especially if you enjoy energizing sativa strains. I will definitely buy more of this flower in the future.
