Last week, Trulieve dropped two new indica strains along with the announcement of TruCRMBL – Northern Hash Plant and Puck Yeah. Both have relatively little information about them available online, but Trulieve’s website offers the following description of Northern Hash Plant:
“Northern Hashplant is a breed from 2 of the most well-respected strains ’88 G13 Hashplant and Northern lights. The flowers odor is classic hashplant with a bit of sweetness from the northern lights and G13. The high is happy and euphoric that is gentle on your mind transitioning into a relaxing and sedative phase with good pain-relieving qualities, an excellent choice for medicating in the evening or at night.“

Appearance/Feel
The quality of curing has been hit or miss in recent batches of TruFlower. Thankfully, this batch of Northern Hash plant has been one of the better cures, with just the right amount of moisture. As you can see in the image above, this is a brighter colored indica strain marked with lime greens and golds; however, there are a few patches of dark green and a couple specks of purple, all topped with bright orange and amber pistils. This flower is pretty sticky as well. Good job on this batch, Trulieve.
Appearance Rating: 4.00/5.00
Smell/Taste
Northern Hash Plant has been one of Trulieve’s more pungent indica strains. The most notable smell is an earthy, sour, musky, pungent cannabis smell – most likely acquired from its G13 Hash Plant parent. However, there is also an underlying sweetness and the slightest hint of citrus, most likely as a result of breeding G13 Hash Plant with the sweeter pine terpenes of Northern Lights. When vaporized, this strain tastes like one would expect your “typical” vaporized cannabis to taste. It’s definitely enjoyable, but not necessary noteworthy or unique.
Smell/Taste Rating: 3.80/5.00
Effects/Medical Use
This category is where Northern Hash Plant really shines for me. Of all the indicas I’ve tried from Trulieve so far, this has been possibly the heaviest and most “true” indica strain that I’ve gotten. I have a high tolerance, but one bowl of Northern Hash Plant gets my body feeling warm and relaxed while my head starts feeling heavy. If I consume any more than a bowl of this strain, there’s a high likelihood I’m going to fall asleep. I definitely recommend Northern Hash Plant as a great medication for relaxing the mind and body and helping one ease into a deep and relaxing sleep. I would not recommend using this strain if you have anything planned to do during the day; it is not a good strain for productivity, but a great strain fort relaxation, pain relief, and sleep.
Possibly good for treating:
- Anxiety
- Moderate aches and pains
- Moderate nausea/gastrointestinal issues
- General Relaxation
- Insomnia (especially in higher doses)
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.
Effects Rating: 4.10/5.00
Overall Rating: 3.97/5.00
Overall, I would best describe Northern Hash Plant as “a really good strain for evening and nighttime medication”.
Northern Hash Plant and Puck Yeah (review coming soon) are definitely two of the heaviest indica strains I’ve gotten in the Florida medical cannabis program. Though I wish the price would come down – $55 an eighth is way too steep – I hope Trulieve keeps this strain around, because it is a “true” indica. If some of the hybrid or other indica strains haven’t been giving you the relief you need, I’d recommend looking to Northern Hash Plant. It’s a solid medicinal strain.

Hi Kyla,
Trulieve regular rotates flower strains in and out, especially since the industry is still in its early stages. Some strains stick around for most all of the time (like 9lb Hammer); others come and go with extended time in between grows (Green Crack flower, Stardawg, and apparently Northern Hash Plant).
Hopefully as the industry expands, dispensaries will be able to carry a wider and larger variety of strains in stock more frequently. Until then, we have to play the hit or miss game.

Was actually looking for a hash plant, afghani true indica strains other than 9lb
I still get a racey mind at first with 9 lb. So i went in yesterday and asked what was in stock well when they said northen hashplant. Without any hesitation i said I’ll take it. Opened jar biggest buds ive had from dispensary. Big beautiful buds that stiiiink.
Don’t go by numbers, says its 17% thc. This thing is a knockout, mind erasing strain. Stronger than any other strain from them I’ve had. Not for daytime. Well, unless your at at home doing nothing.
